The Columbus County Schools AIG program is committed to meeting the educational needs of students with special gifts, talents and abilities.
The AIG program integrates gifted education into the total school program through service options that are flexible and dynamic. The array of service options support individual growth at varying levels of ability. Multiple criteria are used in the identification process to appraise student need for differentiated services.
The curriculum goals of the AIG program are to differentiate and enrich the NC Standard Course of Study, develop abstract thinking and reasoning skills, encourage creative thinking and problem solving, and to foster self-directed learning processes which encourage advanced students to develop to their fullest potential as 21st century learners.
