Opening a Web
Location
After logging on to MSFP, you will need to open a web location
in order to access the page you want to edit. To do this, simply
click "file" on the toolbar across the top of your screen. When you
do this, you will see an option to "open web." This simply means to
open an existing file located on a web server in order to access it for
editing. The graphic below illustrates this step of the process.

When you click this, a window will appear prompting you to enter a web
location. It is now that you will need to
type your website URL (Uniform
Resource Locator). For
example, I would type the following to open my page:
http://www.columbus.k12.nc.us/ges.

Afterwards,
click "open." An authentication window will appear next,
in which
you will be prompted to enter your authentic username and password.

Upon doing so, you will be directed to your server,
where you will locate you folder
containing any and all pages you
have/will develop. The screen will appear as follows:

Now you are on your way to developing your page. Next, we will
discuss the
fundamentals of constructing a webpage that is student, parent, and
teacher-friendly.
