How to Listen and Stream to Columbus County Schools Radio

 

Streaming is simply the sending of bits of audio out to listeners who then listen to the sound more or less live. It is analogous to radio, except that anyone in the world with a computer or wireless radio can listen in!

 

Listening to Columbus County Radio is very Simple. Using Winamp (free download here) or Windows Media Player, click here if you are at a school, or here if you are outside the school system. The stream should begin to play, even if you are on dial-up.

Streaming: (note-- Kelly Jones has a computer for loan that is already configured and available for use)

If you would like to stream a broadcast live over the internet, be it a baseball game or awards ceremony, all you need to do is:

1) Call or email Kelly Jones
2) Download Winamp (see link above)
3) Download and install the DSP Plugin (here)
4) Activate the plugin -- under "address" make sure that 192.168.101.145 is entered - the password should be correct by default. Under "Encoder", select "mp3"

 

Click connect and you should be broadcasting. If you are using a sound system or computer mic, then be sure to change the input to "soundcard". Push to talk should be in the lock position.
