In observance of Veterans Day, all schools will be closed on Monday, November 11th. This important day gives us the opportunity to reflect on and honor the brave men and women who have served in our nation's military. As we enjoy this day of remembrance, let’s take a moment to thank a veteran, learn about their stories, and reflect on the freedoms we hold dear thanks to their service.

Eighth grade at WTS is reading the classic novel "The Outsiders" to explore themes of identity, belonging, and social class, which are relevant to their development and understanding of the world around them. As well as focusing on critical thinking, textual analysis, citing textual evidence, and exploring figurative language. Students have created their cliques.

WTS families: Do you have a family member or friend who is a veteran? If so, please reach out to them and see if they would be willing for your WTS student to create a video of them talking about what branch of service they served in and any memories they would be willing to share. We will compile these videos and present them to the students during the week of Veterans Day!
