Good evening!
This is Kristie Leinthall, principal of Acme Delco Elementary School with your Bobcat News for the week of December 2nd, 2024!
We hope that all our students and their families had a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving Break!
1. ADES is holding a school wide fundraiser December 2nd through December 6th. We are selling Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for $15 a dozen. This is a pre-order fundraiser. The students will be given an order form and will be responsible for collecting the money and turning it in. All the money and order forms will be collected on the same day, Friday, December 6. We are having this fundraiser to raise money for our Beta Club to attend the conference in Greensboro, NC early next year as well as provide instructional support materials for students at ADES. The student who sells the most will have an opportunity win a Flip and Fly gift card. The class that collectively sells the most will win a pizza party or party of their choice! We would love to see all our students participate in this fundraiser and sell at least 1-2 dozen doughnuts each to benefit the students of BETA Club and ADES.
2. All 5th Grade students will be taking the NC Check-In for Science on Tuesday, December 3rd. We ask that all students arrive to school on time so that we may begin testing promptly at 8:00 AM. Students are encouraged to get a full 8 hours of sleep the night before testing and to eat a healthy breakfast.
3. Parents students will receive their 2nd 9-weeks progress reports on Thursday, December 5th, please review these with child and contact the teachers should you have any questions or concerns.
4. Parents of Pre-K and Kindergarten students are reminded that an adult must be present at pick-up and drop of at all bus stops.
5. Transportation Changes must be in written form and must be completed by 2:00 PM daily. We do not accept phone calls or text message transportation change requests.
6. Please remember that students are counted tardy if they are not in school by
7:45 AM. Our instructional day is from 7:45 AM to 3:00 PM daily!
7. Car Rider students are to be dropped off at the car rider line only and not at the front of the building due to safety concerns. Please adhere to speed limit in the car rider drop off area.
Once again, we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! As always should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school at 910-655-2957.

In observance of Veterans Day, all schools will be closed on Monday, November 11th. This important day gives us the opportunity to reflect on and honor the brave men and women who have served in our nation's military.
As we enjoy this day of remembrance, let’s take a moment to thank a veteran, learn about their stories, and reflect on the freedoms we hold dear thanks to their service.

There will be no school for students on this day, so we can focus on these important meetings.
Conferences will be held from 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM, so you can pick a time that works best for you. You can choose to meet in person or online, whichever is easier for you.
During the conference, you will learn about your child’s strengths, areas where they can improve, and how we can work together to help them. To set up your conference, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
Thank you for supporting your child’s learning!
