📢 A Note Regarding State Testing (EOG)
EOG testing is for our 3rd–6th grade students, but we need ALL Panthers to help us make this testing season successful!
🔒 During EOG testing, it is extremely difficult to check students out early. Students who are actively testing are NOT allowed to leave the testing room — even after they finish — until the entire class (and surrounding testing areas) are complete. We must keep all testing environments secure.
🏫 This also means that students in Kindergarten–2nd grade must remain in their classrooms during testing times. Movement throughout the main building can cause disruptions, and many of our Teacher Assistants are serving as testing proctors during this time.
🔊 Lastly, please remember that HAES is an older building, and our classrooms can hear outside noise very easily. Conversations, car noise, music, and other sounds can travel into testing areas. While we know we cannot prevent every disruption, we greatly appreciate everyone helping us keep noise levels down as much as possible.
🔒 Please refrain from early dismissals on testing days.

All World’s Finest Chocolate money is now due. Please make sure this is turned in to your child’s teacher ASAP. Good afternoon, Hallsboro-Artesia families! 🐾
We have officially begun testing season! Our theme this year is GAME ON! 🎮🏆 We are in it to win it, and our students and staff have worked incredibly hard from August until now.
This week, we will be sending home blank letters and envelopes for families. We highly encourage each parent or guardian to write a short note of encouragement to your child. On the morning of your child’s EOG, their letter will be waiting on their desk to help motivate and encourage them before testing begins. Please return the letters as soon as possible. 💙
Most importantly, please continue encouraging your child. Sometimes children doubt themselves, but they have learned and grown so much this year. Confidence and support from home truly make a difference!
📋 A Note for All Students in Grades 3–6A note went home last week regarding permission to remediate and retest. Every child in the district received this note. This is simply to ensure that we have permission in place in case your child does not pass the first time.
Please know this is not an indication or prediction that your child will not pass. As always, teachers will communicate directly with families, and any decisions regarding remediation or retesting will be made on a case-by-case basis.
