Last Day of School

The deadline for permission slips and money has been extended to Tuesday, April 21st.

Good Evening Mustangs,
As we enter the week of April 20th through April 24th, we find ourselves in a critical time of the school year. This "final stretch" is an opportunity to reflect on our progress and refocus our energy to ensure every student finishes the year with excellence. With 24 instructional days remaining before the EOG’s, we must remember that excellence is not an accident; it is the result of consistent effort and intentional action taken each day.
Here is what our Mustang family can look forward to this week:
Weekly Schedule & Events
Monday, April 20th: Permission slips and money for the Spring Dance, “A Night to Remember” are due.
Tuesday, April 21st: Our 8th-grade students will take an exciting step toward their future with a visit to South Columbus High School (SCHS) from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. Later that afternoon, cheer on our Baseball and Softball teams as they compete away at Tabor City at 4:00 pm.
Wednesday, April 22nd: We celebrate Office Professionals’ Appreciation Day. Please take a moment to thank the dedicated staff who keep our school running smoothly.
Thursday, April 23rd: This is the final day to order a yearbook, so don't miss out on capturing this year's memories! We also invite you to come out and support our Baseball and Softball teams at home as they take on Williams Township at 4:00 pm.
Friday, April 24th: We observe School Volunteer Appreciation Day. We are incredibly grateful for the parents and community members who invest their time in our students' success.
A Call to Finish “Mustang Strong”

Have a great weekend!
There are a lot of things happening in Mustang County this week! Please make sure that students arrive at school on time, especially on Monday, March 23rd and Wednesday, March 25th for the iReady EOY Reading & Math Diagnostics. The car rider entrance closes each morning at 7:55 to allow adequate time for the morning safety protocols and students to be seated and ready to begin the day by 8:00 am. Students arriving after the entrance is closed should check into the front office accompanied by a parent/guardian. We appreciate your support in making sure our students are safe and ready to begin the day on time. Last week the grade level attendance was as follows: 5th: 87%, 6th Grade: 91%, 7th Grade: 89%, & 8th Grade: 93%. Our daily & weekly goal average is 95% and we encourage you to please send a note within 5 days of an absence due to illness or appointments. Students who have 20 or more unexcused absences may not be able to attend field trips and will remain at school to make up missed assignments and/or tests. Attendance in all classes is important to student mastery and success. Please contact our office at (910) 642-8301 if you have any questions or concerns. We appreciate your support as we strive for continued excellence!

Students have been busy all day preparing and are ready to showcase their incredible talents in band, chorus, dance, theatre, visual arts, poetry, and piano through performances and exhibits you won’t want to miss.
