The interest letter for Jr. Beta Club members to attend the field trip to Charleston must be returned to Mrs. Nobles tomorrow morning. The letters were sent home last Wednesday and Mrs. Nobles spoke to each Jr. Beta Club member. Those interest letters are needed in order to secure the hotel rooms and charter bus. If we do not receive enough letters tomorrow, the trip may be canceled due to low participation. Please send Mrs. Nobles a message or email if you have any questions.

There will be no school for students on this day so that we can focus on these important meetings.
Conferences will be held from 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM. You may choose a time that works best for you and meet in person, by phone, or online—whichever is most convenient.
During the conference, you will learn about your child’s strengths, areas for growth, and ways we can work together to support their success. To schedule your conference, please contact your child’s teacher directly.
Thank you for your continued support of your child’s learning!

We hope you enjoyed the beautiful snow and made memories! We have a two hour delay tomorrow and the doors will be open for car students at 9:30 and close at 9:55 a.m. Students arriving after 9:55 a.m. must have a parent sign them into the office. Our Mustangs will travel to Williams Township tomorrow to play basketball with the ladies beginning at 4:00 p.m. Dixie Youth Baseball Registration will be held Saturday, February the 7th & 14th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the gym at Nakina Middle School. The cost is $50. South Columbus will host a football camp on February 7th for grades 4th-8th from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Registration is 12:00-1:00 p.m. and costs $20 per person. Congratulations to Axel Nunez! He was one of the top 5 winners in the state for the 5th Grade Online Social Studies Competition for the NC Elementary Beta Club. This event was held online prior to the scheduled convention which is being moved to a virtual event. We are proud of Axel and look forward to our Mustangs competing in other events during the virtual convention. We appreciate your support and this concludes our announcements for this week.

If you experience technical issues during remote instruction, please contact the Tech Support Hotline at 910-499-0080 or email ccssupport@columbus.k12.nc.us. All questions regarding assignments should be directed to the teacher.
Families are encouraged to continue monitoring the Columbus County Schools mobile app, district website, social media, and Remind messages for updates.

Columbus County Schools will be in remote instruction on Monday, February 2, 2026, due to the approaching winter storm. Students should check Google Classroom for assignments and contact their teachers if they have any questions. We will continue to monitor conditions and make a decision regarding Tuesday as conditions develop.
Please monitor social media, school websites, Remind, and—most importantly—download the Columbus County Schools mobile app to receive the latest information and updates.

We hope everyone is warm and ready to begin a new week! As we begin this last week of January, we look forward to the growth and progress that our students will make in the next 57 instructional days before we begin the End of Grade Assessments. "The aim of education is growth: the aim of growth is more growth." Please talk with your child about his/her current progress and goals in iReady Math and Reading as well as the classroom assessments and contact a teacher to schedule a conference on Monday, February 9th during the Parent/Teacher Conference Day. Feel free to call our office at (910) 642-8301 if you need additional assistance.
