Columbus County Schools is closely monitoring the weather forecast for next week. At this time, we will be operating on a regular schedule. However, the forecast remains extremely complex and may require us to adjust school schedules quickly if conditions change.

To keep families informed, updates will be shared through the following channels:

District and school Facebook pages
Text messages and phone calls
Remind notifications
The CCS Mobile App
District and school websites
X.com - @colcoschools
Local media outlets

As a general rule, we will move to remote instruction on days when weather prevents us from being in person.
We encourage you to check these platforms regularly so you receive the most up-to-date information.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our students and staff safe.

At TCS, Mrs. Vereen's students reflected on courage. They shared personal examples of times they stepped up, spoke out, or kept going even when it wasn’t easy. Together, the class discussed how courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s moving forward despite fear. Mrs. Vereen is proud of the way they are growing into brave, thoughtful young people!

At TCS, Ms. Williamson’s 5th grade class took two morning meetings to complete a puzzle within 10 minutes each day. The first day, they could only talk to one person at a time. By day two, the whole class worked together effectively and finished the puzzle within minutes to spare. Students practiced communication, thoughtfulness and problem solving. 🧩

TCS Day 1: On the first day of school, Mrs. Vereen's classes read First Day Jitters and talked about how everyone feels nervous when starting something new—even teachers! Students made “Jitters Juice” to celebrate and wrote in their journals about their own first-day feelings. They followed up with student surveys. It was a fun and reflective way to kick off middle school together!
