At TCS, 8th grade students in Ms. Williamson’s ELA class completed their reading and annotations of “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. Students were assigned groups to prepare for their Socratic seminar. During the rotations students discussed themes, figurative language used, the purpose of the poem and the speaker’s perspective by supporting their ideas with textual evidence. Students discussed and shared their findings like scholars today!

The staff and students of Tabor City School enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner today.

At TCS, 8th grade students in Ms. Williamson’s ELA class have been working on poetry, literature and figurative language in Unit 2. Students were challenged to complete the “Music As Poetry” project. Students had to pick a song, analyze the song like a poem and present the elements and themes surrounding the song. After much collaboration, students presented their presentations to their peers and discussed how music and poetry are more similar than they originally thought.🎶

The library at TCS was busy during the month of October. The students read books for an October Reading Challenge followed by a Popcorn Party in the library with friends. In observance of Veterans Day, all schools will be closed on Monday, November 11th. This important day gives us the opportunity to reflect on and honor the brave men and women who have served in our nation's military.
As we enjoy this day of remembrance, let’s take a moment to thank a veteran, learn about their stories, and reflect on the freedoms we hold dear thanks to their service.
