This week, we celebrate Arts in Education Week! We pay tribute to the dedicated educators and supporters who enrich students' lives through the arts. The arts are instrumental in preparing our students for the future, offering invaluable experiences to enhance their studies- and their lives.





Here are some reminders for this week at West Columbus High School. All seniors must provide documentation confirming their Meningococcal Vaccine (MCV4) in order to continue attending school. Proof of vaccination must be forwarded to the School Nurse as soon as possible. Wednesday is Picture Day for all students. On Thursday we will hold Success Advisory Meetings and Club Meetings. Thursday is also FFA Recruitment Day at WCHS. On Tuesday, our Volleyball and Girls Tennis teams travel to South Columbus. On Wednesday, our Boys Soccer team hosts Trask. On Thursday, our Volleyball team hosts East Bladen and our Boys Soccer team hosts Lakewood, while our Girls Tennis team travels to East Bladen. On Thursday, our JV Football team travels to St. Pauls. On Friday, our Varsity Football team hosts St. Pauls at Viking Field, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30. Students are reminded that school begins promptly at 7:55am. On Wednesday, our Volleyball teams travel to Lakewood High School and Whiteville High School on Thursday. Matches begin at 4:30pm. On Thursday, our Girls Tennis team opens their season at Whiteville, with matches beginning at 4:00 pm. On Friday, our Varsity Football team plays its home opener versus West Bladen, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 pm. Friday night is also Cheer & Football Camp night at Viking Field. On Thursday, our JV Football team travels to Marlboro County High School in Bennettsville, SC with kickoff at 6:00 pm. On Friday, our Varsity Football team travels to play the Sandhills Titans, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 pm. WCHS is currently without power. Therefore, student schedules and other services are temporarily unavailable. Once power is restored, normal operations will resume.

All staff members attended convocation today at East Columbus Jr.-Sr. High School. The day focused on initiating our new Learning Framework, developed by the Curriculum and Instruction Department. Superintendent Beck also shared his vision for the upcoming year. Additionally, we recognized our Principals and Teachers of the Year. Congratulations to Kristie Leinthall, Principal of the Year from Acme Delco Elementary, and Dr. Anthony Martin, Teacher of the Year from East Columbus Jr.-Sr. High. We extend our gratitude to the faculty and staff of East Columbus Jr.-Sr. High for their outstanding work in hosting the event.
