4th Grade Math Night Success! 🎉
Mr. Corey Kissam’s 4th grade class hosted an awesome Parent Math Night!
Parents and students explored the new math curriculum together—diving into hands-on math centers just like those used in class. Families brushed up on their math skills while learning strategies to support students at home. Thank you, Mr. Kissam, for making math meaningful and fun for both kids and parents! 💙📚➗✖️

NC Countdown to College (C2C) kicks off in October; it’s a year-long initiative where students are encouraged to complete the following three steps in college enrollment: residency, financial aid, and college applications.
Many North Carolina colleges and universities participate in C2C by waiving application fees during College Application Week, October 20-26, 2025.

At the most recent meeting, students collaborated with Ms. Laura Hunter, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, to identify and define the core values most important to them. This work will directly inform the development of the district’s 2026–2031 Strategic Plan.

Each fire department within Columbus County has been supplied with an allotment of these smoke detectors for installation in homes across their respective districts.
We encourage all families throughout the county to take advantage of this free smoke detector check and installation program. This initiative ensures that every home has properly functioning and up-to-date smoke detectors. If any detectors are found to be outdated, missing, or not working, new ones will be installed free of charge.

A special thank you to our amazing principals from the Board.
