There will be no school on Monday, September 2nd, in observance of Labor Day.

Good Afternoon Panthers! This is Dr. Hill with your weekly update for the week of September 1, 2024.
1. Please remember that we have no school tomorrow in observance of Labor Day. Students will come back on Tuesday, September 3rd.
2. This year, one of our goals is to improve our late arrivals of early dismissals. Leaving early not only disrupts your child's learning but also takes time away from meeting your child's academic needs. Please limit the number of late arrivals and early checkouts as much as possible.
3. If you have not already done so, please make sure that you sign up for REMIND app. The remind app is most convenient way to communicate with your child's teacher. This is extremely important because our teachers here at HAES use the app to also give important information and announcements for the class.
4. I want to thank all parents for a successful first week of school. We have worked extremely hard to ensure that students were safe and learning this week. I also want to thank parents for your patience when it comes to the bus and car pick up and drop off. As we get the year going these things become much easier and the flow becomes much faster. Thank you for all that you have done.
5. Here are a few reminders to remember as we get started in the year. No transportation changes may be made over the phone. These must be done in person or written notification. We also stop our early departures at 2pm daily. We are still looking for volunteers here at HAES. If you want to volunteer please make sure that you get a volunteer form and return it to your child's homeroom teacher or the office. You will also need a copy of a social security card, license and 10 dollars.
We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday. Have a wonderful evening!

Thank you to Palmyra Missionary Baptist Church for their donation!

Welcome Back! Today it was so nice to see smiling faces and learning back on the hallways at HAES. There are a few reminders: 1. Parents-- please remain in your car during the carpick in the afternoon. This is to keep all students safe at the end of the day. We know the lines are long but it is important for us to keep order and efficiency during that time. Our pickup line goes much faster as time goes on. 2. Bus and Transportation Changes: Please remember that changes cannot be made over the phone. A written note and a change in person is the only acceptable method of transportation changes for students. 3. Please give grace to our Bus Drivers. Bus drivers have one of the most difficult tasks there is. Learning a new route along with students takes time. Please make sure that you give grace to our drivers. We can assure you that all students will be dropped off and pickup as early as possible. As time goes on, this becomes much faster. Each child went home today with a "Here Comes the Bus" form. Please take a look and call your child's teacher or the front desk if you need to know your child's ID number. 4. Middle School Girl and Boy Soccer Try outs! Coach Donovan Anderson and Coach Reah Jacobs want to let all 6th graders know that tryouts for the MS boys and girls soccer will be held on Wednesday (28) and Thursday (29). Students will need an updated physical form completed by a physician before they can practice and tryout. The time for the tryouts are 3pm-4:45pm daily. If students are bussed over to ECJSHS they need to report to room 217. For more information please contact those coaches above. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Good Afternoon Panthers!
First and foremost Welcome Back to the 2024-2025 Academic Year. We are extremely excited to have everyone back and ready to learn. A few reminders for everyone this week:
1. Parents are allowed (but not required) to walk students in on the first day only. The doors will not open until 7:40am. Please note that at 8:15am we ask that all parents exit so that our day may begin.
2. Kindergarten and PreK parents we have staggered enrollment for the first few days of school. Please only come inside on your child's first day.
3. Please be extremely patient this week with bus drop off and pick up. As we get to know the students and families, we will get a better timeframe of when drop off and pick up will be. Please make sure that you sign up for the Here Comes the Bus App so that you will be able to track the bus in the future.
4. Parents, please make sure that you sign up for the REMIND app with your child's teacher. This is the fastest and most convenient way for communication between families and teachers. Many of our teachers give important information and updates on the REMIND app and without having it downloaded you may miss extremely important information.
5. Please be reminded that transportation changes cannot be made over the phone. These transportation changes must either be in writing or done in person. No changes or checkouts may occur after 2:00pm daily.
6. Tshirts are still on sale! IF you would like a HAES t-shirt please contact Mrs. Deal in the library.
We truly look forward to a wonderful year here at HAES and to see everyone tomorrow. Have a wonderful evening.
