Weekly Updates for Hallsboro-Artesia Elementary School Week of February 17, 2025 1. According to educational experts, 80% of learning is visual. If children can't see well, it is much more difficult for them to learn efficiently. That is why Lions Kidsight USA was established. In partnership with The Lions Club of Lake Waccamaw, Kidssight USA is a national program coming to HAES that will ensure that our children can receive free eye screenings and follow-up care when needed. A form will be going home with your child this week. It is important that you fill out the information provided if you would like your child to receive a free eye exam. These eye exams will occur on campus under the supervision of our nurse on February 20th. 2. Attention 6th Graders: Softball and Baseball signups will begin March 3 and 4 at Hallsboro Fields. Tryouts will be from 3-5 please ensure that all player attendees has a valid physical. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Coach Padro for baseball and Mrs. Dana Smith for softball. 3. Read Across america Week is coming March 3-7. Be on the lookout this week regarding our dress up character days for this event! 4. Parent Conference Day is March 10th. As we prepare for this event, teachers will be sending out information regarding a signup time that you can come and meet with your child's teacher or teachers. 5. March 17th is going to be a very BUSY day here at HAES. We will have class pictures, spring pictures, and World's Finest Chocolate kickoff. This fundraiser will be our last fundraiser before our big guardian gala event. Other Important Information: 1.
