Middle school students from CCS participated in a special MarineQuest camp today on the campus of UNCW.
At TCS, Ms. Vereen’s 6th grade students were “Caught in the Act” showing acts of kindness and/or helping others.

The 6th grade week one morning meeting focus skill was KINDNESS. The students participated in many collaboration/group activities throughout the week including things they could do to make their school better TODAY. We wrapped the week up with a game of #hashtagit to build classroom community. You’ll notice 6th grade students performing acts of kindness throughout the week. Snap a “Caught in the Act” picture of them and send them to Ms. Vereen.
Students in Ms. Williamson’s 8th grade class enjoyed a book tasting of various genres to kickoff the year. Students were tasked to get a taste of genres they typically don’t read. After recording their feedback on their menus, students were encouraged to share their interests with group members and discuss!📚
Joining the Live Broadcast crew as an instructor is Mr Jeff Rudnik. Mr.Rudnik brings a wealth of technical background to the CCCA Broadcasting Program.

Technology Director Adam Sellers showed up with Blue Moon pies to get Open House started at Williams Township.
All staff members attended convocation today at East Columbus Jr.-Sr. High School. The day focused on initiating our new Learning Framework, developed by the Curriculum and Instruction Department. Superintendent Beck also shared his vision for the upcoming year. Additionally, we recognized our Principals and Teachers of the Year. Congratulations to Kristie Leinthall, Principal of the Year from Acme Delco Elementary, and Dr. Anthony Martin, Teacher of the Year from East Columbus Jr.-Sr. High. We extend our gratitude to the faculty and staff of East Columbus Jr.-Sr. High for their outstanding work in hosting the event. West Columbus High Seniors continue the tradition of painting their parking spaces. Each senior has the opportunity to paint their parking space with a special message or meaning.
Tomorrow, August 12, 2024, CCCA will have a 2-hour delay for students only. If students cannot be picked up due to flooding, they should participate virtually. All staff members should report to work at their regular times.
