ECJSH Swamp Keepers Educational Foundation is selling pork chop plates this Friday. Please see our Facebook post for more information.
Lastly, mark your calendar now! Our annual Christmas Program will be Friday, December 20th at 9:30am in the gym. Each grade level will have a surprise for parents to view with a very special guest appearing at the end. This is a half day for students.
Did you know that….
Around Christmas time, student absences tend to increase significantly as families often take extended vacation days, leading to a spike in missed school days right before and after the winter break, potentially impacting their learning due to the accumulated time away from the classroom. Please make a concerted effort to keep students in school for the full school day. We have three weeks of school before break and we want to keep learning going through the holidays!
Thank you and have a wonderful evening.

There will be no school for students Nov. 27th-Nov. 29th. Happy Thanksgiving!

A huge shout-out to Mrs. Deal and the Battle of the Books team at HAES for their incredible efforts in organizing our canned food drive! A special congratulations to Mrs. Jackson’s 4th-grade class, who collected the most cans and earned a well-deserved pizza party! Thank you to everyone who contributed. Together, we’re making a difference! #HAES #PantherPride #CommunitySupport #BattleOfTheBooks

Good Evening Hallsboro Artesia Panthers. This is Kalee Hill with your weekly update for the third week of November. Please remember that our Battle of the Book’s Teams are collecting Canned Goods. This is the last week of our canned food drive. The class that donated the most canned foods will earn a pizza party! This Thursday, November 21 is Native American Hertiage Day. Hallsboro Artesia has a rich history of Native American Students. We encourage our students and staff that would like to participate in this day to dress in their traditional Native American Attire. Book fair information went out last week with your child! More information on book fair will go home next week. A huge congratulations goes out to our own, Ms. Heather Tilly. Ms. Tilly was recognized at the North Carolina Conference of Exceptional Teachers this past week! Way to go! Did you know? Did you know that late arrivals and early departures can affect students learning? Early departures can contribute to a student's overall attendance record and potentially impacting their academic standing if they occur frequently.

The 6th graders from HAES had an amazing time visiting the NC Museum of Natural Sciences! A heartfelt thank you to Lisa Yemma, Bess Taylor, and the entire museum staff for making this experience both educational and unforgettable. #HAES6thGrade #NCMuseumOfNaturalSciences #HandsOnLearning #STEMEducation #EducationalFieldTrip #ScienceInAction

Heather Tilley (HAES) was honored as an Educator of Excellence at the NCDPI EC conference in Greensboro.

Good Evening Hallsboro Artesia Panthers. This is Kalee Hill with your weekly update for the second week of November. Kona Ice will be on campus tomorrow. Please make sure that you send your child to school with their Kona Ice money prior to coming to school. Please remember that our Battle of the Book’s Teams are collecting Canned Goods. Last year, we were able to raise quite a bit of canned goods for our needy families in the community. Please consider donating to this wonderful cause. So far, our 4th grade team is in the lead! Mrs. Jackson’s class is rocking it! This Thursday we are having PJ day at school! This is also our BookBlast day! Mrs. Deal will have books and prizes delivered to your classrooms and we will open them as a school at 1:30. At 2:00 we will host a Drop Everything and Read event. Students can bring in their flashlights to read in the dark. Students from ECJSHS will also be on campus to read to classes. Makeup Pictures will be Wednesday November 13th. If you would like your child to participate in Makeup Pictures please let your child’s teacher know. Last week our absence notes went home with students that have more than 3 absences. Remember, we can accept 5 handwritten parent notes for these absences. All notes need to be turned into your child's teacher. Our Annual Native American History Celebration Day will be held on November 22, 2024. Did you know that…. By 6th grade, chronic absence becomes a leading indicator that a student will drop out of high school. Students who attend school regularly are more likely to be successful! Lastly, we want to thank our families who celebrate Veterans Day. Your service to our nation and community does not go unnoticed. We appreciate your sacrifice that you made to our country and to help keep us safe!

HAES Pumpkin Decorating Contest Winners are...

In observance of Veterans Day, all schools will be closed on Monday, November 11th. This important day gives us the opportunity to reflect on and honor the brave men and women who have served in our nation's military.
As we enjoy this day of remembrance, let’s take a moment to thank a veteran, learn about their stories, and reflect on the freedoms we hold dear thanks to their service.

HAES students Tarrell Antone and Kambri Cummings (4th grade, Mrs. Brinkley) both had poetry selected as winners for the Yam Festival.

HAES Panther Student of the Week for Oct. 28-Nov. 1 is Taylar Caudill, 6th grade. And our Employee of the Week is Mr. Willie Freeman.
